Jules known
better to The Star Inn as "Benny The Wedge" has a far
more serious side to his music than we usually hear.
So who is Jules Benjamin anyway?
Well, he's a player who has been on the scene for some time
from the age of 5! Classically trained on piano from that early
age, he started guitar at 11 (self taught on everything but
piano), and he can now play 30 instruments or so. His first paying
gig was at 14. After leaving college (where he trained as an
actor) he co-founded Intransit Theatre Company with some college
friends. He has won awards for comedy acting. Next he worked for
Pentabus Theatre Company as musical director and composer. He's
gigged extensively throughout Europe and even played to a TV audience of 80 million in the Middle
East. As part of a band, he played in the first concert ever
broadcast live on the Internet (in Nuremberg, Germany). He's
worked with many big names in music & TV, has over 200 songs
recorded and has many more waiting (and that's not including his 4
albums). He once even challenged Evander Holyfield to a fight and he hit No.2 in the New
York state chart in 1990 with his band Edging West. He is
currently half way through first novel and has been seen in the
studio with artists as diverse as Kenny Lynch & Paul Young
The Borroway Blues Band
Tim and his band play
a great set of Chicago style blues, with powerful harmonica
supported by superb lead
guitar, a Double Bass and very tight drumming.
